🌮 White Duck Taco Now Open
White Duck Taco Shop has officially opened its doors at 1519 McCallie Avenue, snug between Highland Park, Orchard Knob, and Ridgedale.
The locally owned spot was dreamed up by Adam Lutz and Nelson Taylor and serves up creative tacos and margaritas in a beautifully restored industrial space with a shaded patio and a kids’ play area.
Plans are already in the works to add a small brewery and a stage for local artists later this year. White Duck is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., so swing by and say hello to your new go‑to taco joint. You can also check out the menu here.
⭐️ Local R&B Trio Featured on America’s Got Talent
CitiLimitz, an R&B trio from Chattanooga, just turned heads on America’s Got Talent with a heartfelt cover of K-Ci & JoJo’s “All My Life.”
They grew up singing gospel and even made it on Ellen in 2019. After four yeses from the judges, they’re now they’re heading to the AGT live shows in California.
You can watch the full audition video here.
💰️ City Council Approves $345 Million Budget
The City Council has unanimously approved Mayor Tim Kelly’s $345 million budget for the 2025–26 fiscal year, laying out a balanced plan that keeps our city moving forward.
Public safety remains the city’s top spending priority, with $152.1 million allocated across police and fire services. Police funding is set to rise slightly to $89 million, while the fire department’s budget will drop to $63.1 million, marking its first decrease since 2020.
Beyond public safety, the budget includes support for early learning, public transit, and community development. Many city employees will get raises, but police and firefighters are left out for now. Mayor Kelly plans to return later this year with a budget amendment to fund those raises.
