Thanks for letting me drop into your inbox this morning! It’s hard to believe back-to-school is just around the corner. Where did summer go?
There are still a few days left though, so let’s make the most of it!
We’ve got a lot to cover today, so let’s get to it!
Local Snapshots
🏄♂️ Chattanooga River Games
The South’s largest extreme sports and music festival is back at Ross’s Landing from August 15 to 17, and it’s free to attend.
See elite athletes compete in cliff diving, deep-water solo climbing, wakesurfing, highlining, and more. Red Bull Creepers, USA Diving, and ChattaWake are all part of this year’s incredible lineup.
Families can enjoy BMX ramp launches into the river, a bouldering wall, a skate rink, slacklines, and nightly electronic music performances.
It’s three days of adrenaline, music, and outdoor fun on the banks of the Tennessee River. More info about this year’s games can be found here.
🎉 Not Your Basic Back 2 School Bash
Back to school is just around the corner, and Chattanooga Parks and Recreation is kicking things off with a big party on Sunday, August 3.
Swing by Miller Park between 2-6 PM for free school supplies, inflatables, games, face painting, live music, and more. There will also be a photo booth and free train rides for kids 6 and under.
This should be a fun event for the whole family and will be a great way to wrap up summer.
🛍️ 127 Yard Sale
The world’s longest yard sale kicks off next week and will be coming right through Chattanooga!
The 690-mile yard sales follow Route 127 from Alabama all the way up to Michigan. The 127 Yard Sale will start on August 7 and run through August 10.
There are a handful of sales in Pikeville, Dunlap, Signal Mountain, and Chattanooga. You can see the full list of Tennessee sales here. Have fun hunting for hidden treasures!
