Happy Thursday!
Easter weekend always sneaks up a little.
You go into the store for one thing and somehow end up standing in front of the candy trying to decide. Cadbury eggs or a Reese’s bunny? Maybe both 😂
Somewhere in there, eggs get dyed, hands get stained, and plans come together last minute. The kind of weekend where you see people, make memories, and keep things simple.
That’s the part people actually look forward to.
Over the past few months, we’ve asked what you want from this newsletter. The answer’s been clear. Events alone aren’t enough.
You want to know what’s worth it. Where to go, what’s new, what’s underrated across Chattanooga and the surrounding areas.
So that’s where this is going.
Over the next few weeks, this becomes a more complete guide. Where to eat, what to do, and the stories, history, and outdoor spots that make this place what it is.
Let’s get to it!

🧯CFD Launches Targeted Home Fire Safety Program
The Chattanooga Fire Department is taking a more focused approach to fire prevention, launching a new home safety program aimed at high-risk areas across the city.
Instead of choosing schools at random, CFD is using incident data to guide where the program goes first, starting with Hardy Elementary — located in the zip code with the highest number of residential structure fires.
The goal is simple: teach basic fire safety where it can make the biggest difference.
✂️ Free Community Day at Orchard Knob Elementary
Local stylists and hair care professionals are coming together at Orchard Knob Elementary for a community giveback event, offering free haircuts, hairstyles, nail painting, and food for families.
Hosted by For The Culture Chatt, the event runs April 4 from 12–3pm (cutoff at 2:30) and is open to school-age kids. It’s a day centered on showing up, giving back, and supporting families in a real, practical way.
Just a heads up, hair should be shampooed before arriving.
🌲 Wildwood Playscape Opening at Enterprise South
A new nature-inspired playscape is opening April 24 at Enterprise South Nature Park as part of Earth Week.
Designed with organic materials and built into the landscape, the Wildwood Playscape is meant to encourage exploration, creativity, and time outside for families.
It’s a thoughtful addition to one of the area’s most popular outdoor spaces and another reason to spend more time out there this spring.

Weekend Game Plan
Friday, April 3
Hug a Bunny at Chattanooga Zoo: Easy win if you’ve got kids or just want something light. Animals, Easter Bunny, and a good chance someone gets way too serious about finding that Golden Egg.
First Friday at ClearStory Arts: A really easy night to just wander, check out studios, and be around creative people without making a whole plan out of it.
Food Truck Friday: Spring Into Flavor: If you can’t decide what you want to eat, this solves it. Walk around, try a few things, and call it a day.
Drake Milligan at The Signal: Solid country show, good energy, and one of those nights that’s easy to just go and enjoy.
Mommy and Me Workout and Easter Egg Hunt at Coolidge Park: Start with a stroller workout, then let the kids loose for an Easter egg hunt in one of the city’s most popular parks.
Saturday, April 4
Birding 101 at Crabtree Farms: If you’ve ever thought birdwatching sounded peaceful but had no idea where to start, this is a pretty easy way in.
Fandom Fusion Convention: Cosplay, gaming, and rows of vendors if you’re even a little into cards, anime, or just being around that kind of crowd.
Vinterest Southside 8th Birthday Party: One of those show up early, wander around, and see what you end up finding kind of days.
Brainerd Farmers’ Market: Fresh food, local vendors, and a good excuse to get out and walk around for a bit.
Day Party: Craft Edition at The Chattery: A hands-on creative hang with watercolor, collage, and collaborative art, plus a few hidden eggs thrown in as they celebrate being back in their space after a fire in 2024.
Traffic Garden Jamz in Red Bank: Live music, food, bikes, and a really easy way to spend a couple hours outside without overthinking it.
Curt Fletcher at The Comedy Catch: If you’re up for a night out, this is the kind of show where you can just sit back and laugh the whole time.
Yellowhorse Powwow Celebration: A chance to experience traditional dance, music, and culture in a setting that’s rooted in community.
Sunday, April 5 🐰
Easter Sunrise Service at Chattanooga National Cemetery: Sunrise, bagpipes, and a crowd that’s been showing up for this for 50 years.
Easter Community Dinner at Bessie Smith Cultural Center: A community meal for anyone who needs it and a real chance to show up, help out, and be part of something that matters.
Where to Eat
Triple T’s Market: Easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there, but once you do, you’ll keep coming back. Owned by twin brothers and around for decades, this is a true neighborhood institution. Everything is scratch made and cooked to order. Wings, burgers, fried pork chops, all of it. The kind of spot that deserves way more citywide attention than it gets. 📍 2801 Dodson Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37406

Hungry Mother: Just opened and already worth a stop. Fresh made bagels, locally sourced ingredients, and a menu that doesn’t feel like everything else. The egg bagel sandwich hits, and the salted maple and tahini latte pulls you in with that sweet and salty balance that just works. Friendly staff and open seven days a week. 📍 825 Houston St, Chattanooga, TN 37403
