🚀 Downtown Chattanooga Sees $523 Million in Active Development
Downtown Chattanooga’s economy continues to gain momentum, with more than $523 million in active development across 16 projects, according to River City Company’s latest report.
Office space is now 94.4% leased, well above the national average, as major employers expand and new companies move in. In 2025 alone, 24 businesses opened downtown, with more already announced for 2026.
Leaders are also targeting vacant large-scale spaces and investing in storefront improvements to strengthen retail corridors. Recent projects like The Waymark hotel add to the energy, reinforcing downtown’s role as the city’s economic and cultural hub.

🪸 New Scuttlebutt Reef Experience Opening at the Tennessee Aquarium
An all-new ocean experience is coming to the Tennessee Aquarium with the opening of Scuttlebutt Reef on March 7.
Located inside the Ocean Journey building, the immersive gallery will feature 12 new habitats filled with hundreds of fascinating saltwater creatures from reef ecosystems around the world. Guests can explore nearly two dozen species while uncovering the truth behind ocean myths and “scuttlebutt.”
The nautical-themed space includes interactive touch screens, tactile coral replicas, and a large living coral reef exhibit with wheelchair access and an under-the-sea selfie station for families.
⛵ Historic Niña & Pinta Dock in Chattanooga This Spring
An extraordinary piece of maritime history is sailing into Downtown Chattanooga as the Niña & Pinta dock at Ross Landing from March 7 through July 12.
The authentic replicas of the famed Age of Discovery caravels will be open for public tours, offering visitors the chance to step aboard hand-built ships crafted using traditional 15th-century tools and techniques.
Praised as one of the most historically accurate Columbus replicas ever constructed, the vessels feature towering masts, hand-rigged sails, and detailed craftsmanship throughout.
Weekend self-guided tours run Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM to 5 PM, with weekday guided tours available by reservation. Tickets range from $8 to $10.
