🌳 McDonald Farms to Transform Into $45 Million State Park
Governor Bill Lee has earmarked $45.3 million to transform roughly 1,300 acres of McDonald Farm in Sale Creek into Tennessee’s 70th state park.
The park will serve as a southern hub for the Cumberland Trail and is projected to generate $11 million annually and create about 70 jobs. Plans include trails, a visitor center, and a possible RV campground, with opening expected in about three years.
Hamilton County will retain additional acreage, while the state develops the preserved land into a major outdoor destination.
