Local Snapshots
💘 Sweetheart Market Returns This Weekend
The 4th Annual Sweetheart Market is returning February 7–8 at the Chattanooga Choo Choo, bringing a festive Valentine’s-themed shopping experience downtown.
This free, two-day event will feature nearly 70 local vendors offering handmade goods, art, specialty foods, jewelry, and sweet treats, along with live music, champagne, a beer and cider bar, and horse-drawn carriage rides.
Recently relocated from Collegedale Commons, organizers say the new venue will boost foot traffic and visibility for small businesses. Whether you’re searching for the perfect Valentine’s gift or simply want to support local makers, the Sweetheart Market promises a fun, community-focused weekend.
🍽 Attack of the Tatsu Expanding with New Sister Restaurant
Attack of the Tatsu is expanding with a new sister restaurant, Mumashika, set to open in late March next to the popular Patten Square ramen spot.
Owner Daniel Starkey has taken over the former Lil Mama’s space, which will connect internally to create a seamless guest experience. Designed as a higher-end, dinner-only concept, Mumashika will feature a seasonal menu, pre-fixed options, and an open kitchen centered around a charcoal yakitori grill.
Executive Chef Kollin Schanley will lead the program, with plans for pop-ups, wine dinners, and private events!
🥣 New Soup Season Series Brings Local Chefs Together for Charity
Pedestrian Wine and Cheese is hosting its first-ever Soup Season this February, bringing the community together for a delicious cause.
Every Wednesday from 5–7 PM, local chefs will collaborate on rotating soup tastings paired with select wines, with all proceeds benefiting the Chattanooga Foundation.
Featured chefs include Jessica Revels and Brian McDonald, Bill Reed, Chef Khaled Albanna, and Toby Comeaux. Limited takeout soups will also be available each week!
